I am looking for a family
Posted Tuesday, 03 January 2012 By nardy huyuquupa avila
Hello, host family:
My name is Nardy Huyuquipa Avila, I am 19 years old, and I am from Cochabamba-Bolivia. I study English at the CBA and Mathematics at Enrique Finot institution; I want to be a teacher. I like to play soccer, swim, read, drive, dance, sing, play the guitar, listen to music and others. I love children, in my free time I go to the movies with my little cousins and my friends. I like to eat Majadito, Saice, Salpicon and different kind of food.
I love my family, my father’s name is Joaquin Huyuquipa Diaz, who works as a driver, and he is 42 years old. My mother’s name is Ana Avila, she works at home, and she is 42 years old. Also, I have two brothers, Nelson is 22 years old, he studies Science Education at UAGRM University, and he is very intelligent. Milton is 20 years old, he studies Computer Repair at Domingo Sabio institution, and he is very funny. I have my older sister Sonia who lives in Spain; she is 25 years old, she has been living there since 2006, she has a daughter, her name is Madelen, she is cute. Every year, my Family and I travel to Cochabamba to visit my grandmother, uncles and aunts. On holidays we gather with family.
Bolivia is a beautiful country, it has 9 Departments, and each one has a variety of costumes, typical food, clothes. The majority of Bolivians are believers in God that in the holidays the family spent in and attend their church like Christmas, Easter, etc... August 6, a very important date for all Bolivians as we celebrate the independence of our country, in every house flies the flag of Bolivia, all marching in the streets. Bolivia has a lot of touristic places like Titicaca lake,Tiwanaku, salar de Uyuni, fuerte de Samaipata, Misiones jesuiticas de chiquitos, cordillera de los andes, Isla del sol y la luna, Oruro carnival also is one of the Major tourist attractions and cultural wealth. I went to visit some of these touristic places with my family and friends and we enjoyed so much to see these wonderful places.
I have much experience in the care of children, both as a group and individually, I have been a catechist for 4 years so I have been responsible for many children, more than 50 children each year from 8 to 14 years. With them we have different activities such as pruning trees in the park, visiting the sick, visit the elderly, visiting other churches, watching movies and others. The most important thing for me was to teach them Christian values to become good children of God... I also care for children in my neighborhood as Mariela, Carla Patricia. I have spent with them unforgettable moments, such as Carla Patricia is studying at school, she is a very good student, I helped her do her homework, accompanied her to school, we shop, cook, go out to the park, pool and other places, I love her like a sister, remember her birthday I will prepare a surprise party with clowns, your friends and your family. It was a very special day for our lives. I also take care of Marie, she is only 3 years old, her mother lives in Argentina, and she enjoys playing football, dolls and go to the park, I teach her how to write the voice and her name.
I would be a good au pair because I am responsible, respectful, funny and honest, especially because I love kids; I love teaching, helping and spending time with them. I like challenges, new experiences, meet new people, and I have the skill to adapt quickly to different situations.
In the future, I want to be an excellent professional, provide quality education in my educational work, so I want to contribute to the development of my country and especially my family, go to the United States of America helped me to improve complete my training and my vision on the world, which would be very good for my professional development.
In conclusion, I am a good person, I love children, I have many skills and I would love to be with his family, especially to share and enjoy with your children.
I love you so much.

Besides Henrique, I take care of my cousin Danilo, when my aunt have an appointment or just to spend some time together, we go to the park, to the pool or just to play. In the apartment complex that I live, have a swimming pool, a soccer field and a playground, every time I'll take care of him, I bring in my house to spend a pleasant day full of activities that I know he love! A few years ago, he began studying, so I started to help in their homework, and this way I can help him better to prepare for papers and exams.
My experience with children is 4920 hours.

Tina (18) loves working in a German Kindergarten
Posted Thursday, 08 September 2011 By mlvadmin
Name: Tina
Age: 18
Nationality: German
Driver’s license: since October 2009
Available: start August 2011 or later
Childcare experience:
In Summer 2010 I did an Internship in a Kindergarten for an month. There were 19 children in the age of thre (3) to six (6) years. The Kindergarten teachers gave me much information and I helped the Kindergarten teachers to supervise the group and played board games with the children, we read books, sang songs, ate together, played in the garden, and made ice cream, all in all we just had have a awesome time together!
The Kindergarten teachers gave me much information about parenting, they were very nice to me and open-minded persons. In December 2010 to February 2011, I took care for children with problems in an kids home with about seven children in the age of 9 - 16. I stand there every weekend and one week of my vacation. Many of these children have parents who can't look after them or it doesn't matter to them. I think that was a helpful experience for me. Since March 2011 I have been taking care of a baby and a six years old children three hours a week. I dress and feed the baby or I take her for walks with the baby buggy and bring her to bed when she is tired. With the older children I'm playing games, help her with her homework, we're taking trips outside it is always great to see how much fun it brings spending time with these kids. It is fascinating to watch her making progress. I think children education is not only taking care of them but also loving and understanding them, teaching them the best values and preparing them for what they’re going to be in the future.
How many years, how often:
for one month in a Kindergarten, one week vacation and also every weekend for two months in a kid’s home and every Monday from March to April, I’ve worked as a babysitter
Ages of Kids: from 3 years to 16 years old children
Activities/play:
I love being and also playing outside with children, so i often take trips with them, just for a walk or to feeding turtles in the park, to make ice-cream outside in the garden, to playing football with them, there are just so many activities to show them that there are much more interesting activites, as only watching tv inside the house. But of course there are also many interesting activities inside the house, once we’ve made a story with pictures of us, that was funny. I also told them stories, we’ve cooked together, made the homework and learned together, arts and crafts, prepared meals for them or we played games together.
Sports: Riding, Dancing, Jogging and swimming
About myself:
My name is Tina and I am 18 years old. I live together with my parents in the south-east territory of Germany called Bavaria. Angelika (41 years old) and Wolfgang (52 years old) in a house in Leutzdorf, a little Village with about 300 inhabitants also in Bavaria. I also got two older brothers (21 and 23 years old). They are living in Nuernberg, a large City one hour away from my hometown. Although we can't spend as much time as we would like to because of work and school, we love to spend time together at the weekend, as for example having barbecue at our garden, having games evenings at home or just watching a movie. I’m experienced in take care of the household (vacuuming, doing the washing up, cleaning...) I also have to cook for myself cause my mother is often off to work so she doesn’t has time to do that.
My family is the most important part in my life, that’s why I have a lovely relationship to their. I am happy that they are supporting me in my wish to go to the United States as an au pair, knowing that it is an unique and great opportunity to develop myself. I hope to find an also warm hearted host family that welcomes me not just as their au pair but also as their new family member.
I am currently at a language-school, getting an Education as a Foreign language correspondent.
That means that I'm learning languages (Spanish and English) and other stuff like economic for two years, to be able to work as a translator or something like that after I have completed my education.
To give you the first impression of me I would like to tell you something about my personality and interests. I would describe me as a helpful, honest, responsible, communicative, creative, open-minded person and I’m in love with life. I have a good sense of humor and want to get to know new people.
Besides, my friends are very important to me. We often spend time together and do different things like cooking, shopping, having dinner together, going to the cinema or exploring cities that's a big passion for me to discover another places. I've been to Spain and Italy and it was awesome there. Other activities I love to do in my free-time is reading, jogging, riding, babysitting or just driving with the car.

Nathalie (19) German au pair with a lot of Kindergarten experience
Posted Thursday, 08 September 2011 By mlvadmin
Name: Nathalie
Age: 19
Nationality: German
Driver’s license: since October 2010
Available: start August or later
Childcare experience:
I have an Education with children. I have a degree as Social assistant with emphasis on social pedadgogy.
Three weeks ago I have finished my education as a social assistant with training-emphasis on social pedagogy. This is what you have to do before you can begin the training as a kindergarten teacher. In the first year of this education I did practical training in a kindergarten for four weeks. In this practical training I often told the children stories, drew pictures with them, played games or played in the gym and did arts and crafts with them. I liked this practical training so much because to work with kids and helping them makes me happy.
In the second year of this education I went three days every week in the kinder garden and two days in the school. I liked to work in the kindergarten and I liked that this practical training was for a whole school year. I had more tasks with the children than before. Every day I told them stories, drew with them, helped them while they brushed their teeth and helped the little children to get dressed. Sometimes I baked with them or sang with them. Often we went outside. There we played hide, ball, or catch each other but the mean part was to look after all the children. I have finished this practical at May 27, 2011 with my tests in anthropology, creativity and health care. Now I am a social assistant with training-emphasis on social pedagogy.
I also worked as a babysitter for a friend of mine. I looked after her child about 20 hours per month.
Alex had just turned two when I started watching him. I enjoyed very much to care for him.
Everytime when I looked after him we had a lot of fun. I played with him with his cuddly toys, his little game ‘farm’ or we drew something together. The first thing that we drew together was his family and friends as pets and he told me, who was who. We had and have a lot of fun. I often go for a walk and to the playground with him. I always change his diapers and sometimes I prepare his meals and bathe him. He has quickly got used to me. I looked after him until the end of May 2011.
How many years, how often: one year, three days a week I worked in a kindergarten.
Ages of Kids: 2-6
Activities/play:
I told them stories, drew with them, helped them while they brushed their teeth and helped the little children to get dressed. I love being and playing outside with children and inside too. I love to go for a walk with children, playing some games like ball games, playing hide or catch each other or build a snowman in the winter. I really love swimming and dancing. With the children we taught a children song, line for line I told them the text and then we sang it together. The children really loved it and after that we dance to the song. Another thing that I did with them was a Story with movements which is called ”Bear adventure” . It was very nice for the children cause they had to feel in the situations and had to do some tasks , like simulate swimming. I like to bring new things outside to the children. Show them the interesting world out there. I really love doing arts and crafts and painting, be creative is a really important thing for me. In kindergarten we did some things and I loved to do with children. We did mouses to hang u at a tree, Christmas decorations for the Christmas tree, we painted plates together as a present for the parents. The children really loved doing that and they had so much ideas how to design their own plate. It was so much fun. Another thing that the children and I really liked was a “Story” picture. I told a story to children in the age of 4 and 5. After that we talked about what happened in that story. Then the children drew a picture about the story and told me what is happening in the pictures. I loved that cause it was very interesting how every single child interpret the own picture. I think arts and crafts is a very good possibility for them to relax and calm down sometimes. I also like to bake with children. I the kindergarten we did Christmas cookies together and designed it together too.
Sports: I love swimming and dancing
About myself:
My Name is Nathalie and I am 19 years old. I live together with my mum and her foster daughter in the town Weilburg which is situated in the middle of Germany.
My Mum (Manuela 43) works as a care assistant in a nursing home and Natascha (the foster daughter, 23) works as a seller. My Dad (Frank, 45) does not live in our home because my parents are divorced but I see him often. Furthermore I have an older brother (Benjamin, 21) but he doesn’t live at our home anymore because he does an education as an electrician away from home. I’m experienced in take care of the household (doing the laundry and cleaning ,doing the washing up, vacuuming, ironing …) and cooking of course, cause my mum works hard and when she has off time we do it together.
The Relationship to my mum and Natascha is good which becomes by the way we are dealing which each other. My Family and my best Friend are the most important people in my life and I am happy about their support concerning my wish to become an Au Pair in the USA.
In order to give you a first impression of mine I want to tell you something about my personality and my personal interests.
As Other People say I am a communicative, lovely, responsible, honest, friendly, funny, independent, creative, open-minded person which is interested in new things and learn to get used in new situations. I love to have people around me and get to know new people. A child’s smile makes me happy. I have a good sense of humor and I love to laugh and especially I love to laugh with children too.
It is very important for me that people are honest, because I am honest. I am capable of dealing with stressful moments because if you have to work in the kindergarten with so many children you have to learn this.
In my free time I love to meet my friends with them I like to go swim, go to have coffee, go shopping, and watching DVDs together. By the way I love drawing, painting, arts and crafts and I like to be creative. I like to sing and I love to look after children.

Larissa (21) has lots of teaching experience
Posted Thursday, 08 September 2011 By mlvadmin
Name: Larissa
Age: 21 years old
Nationality: Brazilian
Driver’s license: Yes, since 2010
Available: ASAP / August
Currently located in: Goiânia, Brazil
Infant care qualified (kids 3 mo. – 2 years): Yes
Childcare experience:
My experience with children began early. I taught my mom’s friend son (6) to read, I helped my mom to teach Portuguese to his brother (6), and I took care of them until they’re 12 and 14 years old. I also took care of their brother, from 8 to 16 years. I used to stay with them during the weekends, so their parents could go out and have fun. But many times, I'd to stay with them in weekdays too. When Gustavo was 6, I taught him to read and write, and some years later, when André was 6, he had difficulties in school, so I helped him learn Portuguese (with my mom's help, because she was a teacher a few years ago). I helped them with homework, and tried to teach them English. We'd spend the day playing, racing, cycling and swimming, and watching movies and making popcorn and brigadeiro (a typical Brazilian candy, with chocolate). They loved playing video games and I told them several stories. In addition, we used to play with board games, draw and connect the dots that I drew. When the boys grew up, I used to take them to the movies and parks, so they could walk on roller skates, skateboard and scooter. I followed the games of basketball and football, because Gustavo turned up to be an excellent basketball player, and André did swimming lessons wich I took with him.
I helped my godmother to take care of her newborn son in 2009, during the two months I lived in Belo Horizonte. As I lived with her, I was always taking care of Gustavo. I learned to change diapers, prepare a bottle, to bathe him, soothe him when him was crying and distract him with small toys and stuffed animals. Whenever my godmother drove with him in the car I was in the backseat to take care that no accident occurred to him, I always checked the belt and kept him distracted.
This year, I started working as a volunteer in a daycare center that cares for disadvantaged children. There, I work with many children aged between 2 and 6. I also helped my neighbor to take care of her two-years daughter, changing diapers, watching her while her mother is not around and playing with her. I taught English to my boss's daughter (12) too.
How many years, how often:
I took care of kids since 2001, and I used to stay with them at weekends and, since 2009, I started to take care of children on weekdays too, about 6 to 8 years per day.
Ages of Kids:
6 months, 4, 6, 8 until they’re 12, 14 and 16, 2 years old and kids aged between 2 and 6 years old.
Activities/play:
I like playing games that encourage learning of them, like telling stories, coloring drawings and playing sports.
I plan to walk a lot with the kids, take them to parks, libraries, clubs and zoo, teach them how to ride a bike and also teach Portuguese to them. Play the American and Brazilian sports, like "queimada", soccer and "bet". When they are at home they will assemble the puzzle, draw, paint, dance, play board games, invent histories and perform all kinds of activities that develop their creativity. I will also enjoy reading for them.
Sports:
I swim since I was four, so I know the procedures for first aid in case of drowning. I was part of the basketball team of my school and I play it until today, I did ballet and jazz classes and did capoeira classes for two years. I run everyday in a park near my job. I would love to monitor children in sports activities and learn typical American sports. I also want to teach typical Brazilian sports.
About myself:
My name is Larissa, I’m almost 21 years old and I live with my parents in Goiania. I'm a very responsible, hardworking, independent, polite, creative, positive, helper, optimistic, sincere, and honest person. I study International Relations and I'm already halfway through the course. I work in a law firm and I also volunteer at a daycare center.
In my free time I like to go to parks to read. I'm always with a book in my purse. I think reading is the most important thing we must do to acquire culture. Reading in these parks make me feel very in touch with the nature, which I also love. I also like watching movies and TV shows, listening to music, playing with my dogs, hanging out with my friends and surfing the internet.
I love to travel, twice a year I go to Belo Horizonte to see my family and my best friend, and I'm always traveling with my college to conferences in different cities. I love theater, and in my city there are many plays every month, which I always go to see. I love movies, and at least once per month I go to the movie theater.

About myself:
My name is Ana Paula and I'm Brazilian. I live in the state of São Paulo in a city called Taboão da Serra located in the southern part of the state. I live with my mom Luzinete and my sister Ana Flávia. I love to listen to music, sing, swim and cook, which is my favorite hobbie. I´m a very active person and I love new experiences with people and learning about different places and cultures.
I work in a bank at the domestic finance area. I love my job and that´s why I want to have this experience in the US. I want to improve my english, so I can develop my career on the internacional financial market.
I've had lots of experience with children because I enjoy them and I have always been surrounded by them through family and friends. Family is very important in my culture and normally the whole family gets together and friends even take part in family events. I helped to raise my younger sister as my parents were working very often. I took care of her on a daily basis and spend most of my time with her. We have a very close relationship. I found that I really enjoyed taking care of children and that I'm quite good at it. My sister was handful sometimes, but the memories of those years are something that I've always cherished. My first experience taking care of a child who wasn't family was when i took care of my friend’s son, Matheus. He is Marcelo's son. His ex-girlfriend has custody of their son and he looks after him on weekends. However, as he had to work on some weekends for a period of one year I took care of him. I loved the experience and loved the joy that a baby brings to everyone around him. I learned how to take good care of a baby, which was very different from taking care of my sister when she was a small child. They need lots of care and are constantly learning. I prepared his breakfast, his baby bottle, I played with him, and I was responsible for giving him a bath. My friend went to work around 11 a.m. and came back at 5 p.m., so during this period i was responsible for taking care of Matheus on Saturdays and Sundays. It was a great life experience, that I enjoyed pretty much.
My second experience working with kids happened when I taught bible lessons on weekends to the children at the Church where I usually go. I was responsible for teaching them about the bible and the church, and frequently I used to organize visits to museums and parks with them. They were between 7 and 9 years old, which means that they were at that age where they idealized their "teacher" and were very curious about everything. It was a truly rewarding experience because children are forming who they are at this point in their lives and it was a pleasure to be able to help them to learn not only about the bible and the church, but to show them cultural things and take them out to enjoy being outdoors.
With the Au Pair experience I hope to learn more about the American culture, which is a different lifestyle from my own. I know quite a bit about it because one of my good friends grew up in the US. He has many good things to say about growing up there. I think it will be a great experience where I can grow up personally while perfecting my English and gaining a valuable experience abroad. I want to live with a wonderful family where I can give them a great experience as a way to pay them back for the hospitality and attention they will have given me. I am certain that I Will bring lots of happiness to the family and for the kids.
See you soon,
Ana Paula

Svenja (19) lovely, caring Au pair from Germany
Posted Saturday, 13 August 2011 By mv
Name: Svenja
Age: 19
Nationality: German
Driver’s license: since April 2009
Available: from July 2011
Currently located in: Germany
Childcare experience: In my last Easter holidays and in my last summer holidays I worked in the kindergarten, to which I also went when I was little, and I had a great time there. I played a lot of games with the children and we played outside, or drew something. With some girls I spent a whole morning drawing our own memory, what we played afterwards. I also read out some stories to the children in their quite time.
In addition I am babysitting at family Jahn, whom I got to know because I put a flyer at the kindergarten saying that I searched a job as a babysitter, for 4 months now. They have two sons, Julius who is now 7 years old and Henri, who is 4 years old. I always play board games with them or we draw something, we also go for a walk with their dog Willi sometimes. And before going to bed I read them out a story they can choose. Sometimes I also take them home from school or kindergarten. One time we spend the whole afternoon playing with their marble rail, what was a lot of fun.
I also babysat at another family, which has one son Leopold, who is 4 and a daughter Greta, who is 2 years old now. I manly take care of Greta when her mother is working and then we look at books and try to name some things she already knows or we puzzle something. We also play outside a lot, she loves to ride her little training bike or to play in the molding box. But sometimes I also take care of Greta’s brother Leopold and with him I play with his railroad or we play some other games.
Furthermore I used to have tutoring groups in school in which always have been between 2 -5 children from 10 - 12 years and I helped them to get better in maths or English. I always really liked it when I saw that they understood something they had not understood before. I also gave private tutoring to some children from my school if they asked me for it.
How many years, how often:
I babysit at both families for one year now. At family Jahn I am there 6 hours a week and at family Semke I am there 2 hours a week. The internships at the kindergarten have both been about two weeks and in these weeks I have been ther 35 hours a week. The tutoring groups have all been about 2 months and then I gave one hour of tutoring per week.
Ages of Kids: 1 ½ - 14
Activities/play: I like playing board games with the children and I like playing outside with them when the weather is good enough for that. I also like doing handicrafts and draw pictures with children, but I also enjoy playing with playmobil, lego or dolls. Mainly I just like to do everything what makes the kids happy.
Sports: I play handball in a team and I also like jogging, riding my bicycle and going swimming.
About myself:
My name is Svenja, I am 19 years old and I am from Germany where I live in a small town called Bad Salzuflen, which is in the northwest of Germany.
I just wrote my final exams, so I do not actually go to school anymore but I have to wait for my report and my ball until the beginning of July.
In my free time I like doing something with my friends, as for example going to the cinema, watching movies, going shopping or just hanging out to talk. I also like listening to music and watching TV series and I play handball in a team.
I live together with my parents and my 17 year old sister Tina in a flat in our house, in which my grandmother is living too. I get along with my parents really well, especially with my mother, I can talk to her about everything. I also get along with my sister very well, because we have the same interests due to the small age difference between us and so we spend a lot of time together watching our favourite TV shows or movies, talking about the latest events in our lives or going shopping with our mother. As I mentioned one of my grandmother lives in the same house as we do, so we can visit her as often as we want, which is always very nice, because I really like her. My other grandparents do live in the same city as well, so we can visit them also as often as we want and we always have a great time together. Especially as we were younger my sister and me spend a lot of time with them, while my parents were working. Because of that I feel very bonded to all of my grandparents. My whole family supports me in becoming an Au Pair and they all tell me how proud they are that I want to experience something like that.
I am really looking forward to spending a year with you, because I wanted to be an Au pair since I was about 10 years old, because a friend of mine always had Au pairs and it was just so much fun for us kids to play with them. I also look forward to get to know the American way of life and the typical life of an American family while living with you, and for that I would love to be treated as a part of your family and not just as the Au pair. Therefore I would love to go to family meetings and other things like that with you. Of course I would like to spend time with the children although I am not working when I am at home anyway.
I can’t wait to hear from you.
Svenja
