Childcare experience:
I love my job in the hotel and I also love the sons from my boss. Florian is 2 years old and a little sunshine. Every day when he sees me he comes to me and we look at books, talk about what he sees or we paint together. With Florian´s brother Franz I do homework or play soccer. I love to take care of this boys in my worktime and also I love to take care in my freetime. Because they living in my neighborhood I also spend some of my freetime with them. We love to play outside and I am having fun too.
Simultaneously to my work at the hotel, I did an internship in a local Kindergarten. I was working in a group with 13 children, 5 girls and 8 boys. It was an “integrated” Kindergarten - including children with learning difficulties and speech delays and one boy also had a mental deficiency (autism). I loved all of the children. It was so amazing when they came to me, took my hand and said: “Come with me, let’s do a puzzle” or “Come, we read a book”. Than we would go to the quit area and I read many books to them and we looked at the pictures. I also asked them a lot of question about the book.
In the mornings when all kids had arrived we sat down in a circle and sang songs, we spoke about the date, month, weekday and the season. After the “morning circle” we made breakfast and ate. All children helped cleaning the table and afterwards we often went outside. In the garden we played games like tack or painted on big paper. We also liked playing in the sandbox and we loved making sandcastles. At 11 o’clock it’s lunchtime. The children helped setting the table for lunch and helped serving out their meals. After lunch we all cleaned the tables and then some of the children got picked up and the rest lay down for a nap. After 12 o´clock I went home and to my other work at the hotel.
I also worked with my two lovely cousins. Their names are Greta ( 10 years) and Hanna (7 years.) They life in Saxony as well. So I see them on family vacation and meetings and national holidays. When I’m at home in Saxony we go swimming, take my dog “Lumpi” out for a walk, make bicycle tours or play soccer. Hanna is a big soccer fan and plays in a club as a goalkeeper. Greta likes natural sciences. In the autumn we go in the forest and look for mushrooms. I have a lot of fun with these girls. I pick them up from school and bring them to their music lessons. Every February we all drive to Austria and go skiing for 7 days – I look after the girls all the time. We are on alpine cabin and do skiing for one week every day. In the evening we play games or go tobogganing. And we - the 3 “girls” - love to dance and sing. In the evening I bring my cousins to bed and read them a bed time story.

About myself:
I want to thank you for looking at my application and spending time on getting to know me better.
My name is Marie, I'm 21 years old. I want to become an Aupair, because I love to work with children. For my Further Job in the Hotel, I need to improve my English, because there I well have contact to international guest. I also love the Idear of having cultural exchange and to learn more about the American culture, history and lifestyle.
I would like to tell you something about me and my family.
I live by myself in a apartment in Berchtesgaden in the south of Germany near Austria. Berchtesgaden is a very historical point in Bavaria, surrounded by mountains like the “Watzmann”, beautiful lakes like the “Koenigssee” and also lots of international tourists.
My parents’ life in Saxony which is 650 km from Berchtesgaden away. My dad is a roofer and my mom is an elementary school teacher.
Because of the distance I see my parents only a few times a year but I have a good relationship to them. After the primary and secondary school I was trainee as hotel desk clerk and finished in 2010. I continue to work in a little hotel near the “Koenigssee”. In my job as hotel desk clerk I write offers and confirmations to guests and welcome them to the hotel.
I would characterize my self as a person who is always interested in learning new things, get to know new people. I also love to laugh and I got a good sense of humor. I do not have problems to apdapt my self in new situation.. Because its really important for my job, I can handle stressful situation, I am flexible, patient and always just in time. I do not have a problem to do household chores because I am doing it all the time in my own apartment. I also love to cook and would love to cook for your family some special German meals or learn new American meals.
In my free time I like to go hiking, riding horses or shopping, listening music; go to the cinema, meeting friends and in the winter I like to go skiing. My favorite sport is swimming. I have been a lifeguard for 4 years, certified by the German Red Cross. During this training I had two first aid courses and so I am fit in first aid – I also participated in a special first aid course for children.
I have my driver´s license for 4 years now and also have my own car. I drive to work almost every day. Every year I drive around 20 000 km (12 4000 miles) and I never had an accident. Because I am living in an area with a lot of mountains, we are having during the winter time a lot of snow. I am used to drive on streets with snow or ice.
Last November, I visited my best girlfriend in the United States. She is also an Aupair in Washington for a family with 2 children age 2 and 5. At my First I stayed at her house, because she still had to work. I helped her during the week to take care of the kids. So I could see more about being an Au Pair and I loved this experience. After our first week, we starter travailing in the US:
I am looking forward to take on the fresh challenge. I think that this year is a possibility to meet new people and to get new friends and also an experience of life.
I’m looking forward to hear from you soon. I’m hoping that this insight of my life was enough to satisfy you to take me as your Au pair.
