About myself:
I have always enjoyed spending my time with children unfortunately I do not have a younger brother or sister to care about all the time. I planned to be a kindergarten teacher for a long time but I had to face the fact that my voice is not good enough to succeed at the entrance exam of this kind of training. During my university years I baby-sitted my friends’ children.
I never mind spending time with children, especially young ones who are yet able to see the world as a huge playground. I am really patient and can solve conflits between them by explaining what is good or wrong and why they should or should not do something. Children usually follow me because I am able to talk with them in a nice manner and not as their superior but as their friend whose responsibility is to take care of them. I would play lots of games with them and meanwhile I like to teach them useful things about the world around us. It always surprises me how children can pay attention to the smallest details, so why not utilize from it? :)
I applied for a program in 2009 to spend the summer in one of the camps in the States. I planned to travel and get to know everything about the United States personally for many years and I had the chance to spend 9 weeks in Camp Hillcroft, New York as a member of the service staff. This period was a great time to get to know the American way of life and I was not disappointed at all. I also made lots of friends from all over the world and we made trips together at our free weekends.

There are 12 au pair agencies in the USA that have US Department of State designation. Please make sure that you sign up with one of those LEGAL au pair agencies. They are able to provide a legal J-1 visa to your new au pair. A J-1 visa allows au pairs to provide childcare to the children in your family only.
